Yesterday, Alyssa’s Law inched its way closer to final passage, when the concurrence with Governor Murphy’s recommendations passed the Assembly, but was unfortunately not put to the Senate for a vote before they adjourned for the year. The next Senate vote isn’t scheduled until January 31st, so we’ll have to wait until 2019 for them to take action.
February 14, 2019 will mark the one-year anniversary of the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. We’re hoping that Alyssa’s Law is approved for final passage before then, so that schools across the State of New Jersey can take steps to increase the safety and security of their students, staff members, and administrators.
