I apologize for the short notice, but this just came to my attention. A4372 is being heard in the Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee TODAY at 3pm. This bill would allow inmates sentenced to 30 years or more, who were juveniles tried as adults and have served at least 20 years of their sentence, to seek early release. There is no provision to exclude those sentenced to Life in prison, which means if passed, this law would apply to Kim’s rapist/murderer.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, in-person testimony is not permitted. PLEASE take a moment to EMAIL and CALL the bill’s sponsor, Assemblywoman Britnee Timberlake, and ask her to AMEND the bill to exclude those sentenced to Life in prison.
